Dr. Purkiss is also a long-time delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association and an active member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Purkiss’ life is dedicated to his family. He and his wife, Amy, have two boys, Logan and Mason, and a dog, Bogey. After wanting to learn how to play an instrument, Dr. Purkiss also started playing the drums.
